First, First
and First
This is the first time I went abroad and it was
Thailaaaaaaand, Yes, Thailand the country of White Elephant. I was so excited
when I could join the Seateacher program from SEAMEO. Thank you SEAMEO.
Touch Down
I went to Thailand with three other friends of mine from YSU
(Yogyakarta State University). Unfortunately, we were separated to different
universities in Thailand: VRU, TRU and SRU while me myself, I was in ARU (Phranakon
Si Ayyutthaya Rajabaht University). We were separated in Don Mueang
International Airport since we had our own people who picked us up.
Aj. Ned and Aj Nui are the lectures from ARU who kindly
picked me up in the airport. There are also two other students from Indonesia
who was already there: Afifah (Solo) and Dinar (Bandung). I also arrived there
in the same time as the UHAMKA student called Gina since we were in the same
plane. Three students were already here the day before, they are Sri from
Makassar and two students from UII Yogyakarta: Dian and Dhita. We waited for
three other students.
First Deal with
Thailand
After we bought foods for our dinner, (which was free, Aj
Nui paid it for us), we went to a mini market (Seven Eleven). It was quite not
comfortable since we were 12 in a MINI market. We felt quite too big for that
market. We bought what we needed and then we left.
Dorm oh Dorm
Getting inside to the dorm, I really did not know what to
say or even think, I was sooooooo tired: my trip started from 4 A.M that
morning. Surprisingly it was a really comfortable place to stay and I suddenly
forgot my tiredness. The dorm was really clean. My room? It was the farthest to
the left after you entered the main door of our dorm, on the right side after
you reached the end of the alley. We were ten, nine girls and a boy. Lucky for
the boy he had his own room and I felt sorry for him at the same time as well
since he had to stand with his loneliness, 555555. I was with Gina and Dinar. We
had two bunk beds, four built-in cabinets, four tables in a row, a nice toilet
and a perfect bathroom with water heater and we could do shower everytime. To make
the things more perfect, Air Conditioner could make our day since I heard that
Thailand is pretty hot even to an Indonesian like me. Here are some pictures of
my room.
